A definition of drive-paths in small machines like petrol lawn mowers?

by Administrator

I think it is to do with how the power gets from the petrol engine to the moving parts but not sure?

If you are talking about lawnmowers then the drive path would start with the crankshaft,( the shaft that sticks out from the motor). This shaft turns the blade on a push mower and can also have pulleys attached to make it self propelled, this is the way riding mowers get their power to run the transmission and blade.

For drive-paths, read Transmission

It all depends on the mower’s cutting action. The two main types are:

1) Cylinder Reel 2) Rotary
